HOW IT BEGAN

Started as a green initiative with the French Embassy in 2016 to bring back bees into the cities and wilderness, The Moving Hive initiative quickly expanded to include many partners from governmental institutions, universities & schools, museums, businesses, as well as private gardens & rooftops.

HOW IT WORKS?

we install the hives

Our expert beekeepers place a minimum of 2 beehives in your premise to produce 12kgs of honey. We will first inspect your site for feasibility and security.

we take care of the bees

Our expert beekeepers will visit bi-weekly maintain the hives. You can participate at all times, and invite your friends and family to get in touch with nature.

we harvest the honey

Harvest, extraction and filling is done on site and in your presence for full transparency. You will receive your yield directly on harvest.

YOU GET YOUR HARVEST ON THE SPOT.

A MINIMUM OF 2 BEEHIVES PER LOCATION, EACH BEEHIVE YIELDS A MINIMUM OF 6KG OF HONEY AND COST $250

Each beehive yields a minimum of 7.5 common honey jars of 800g. At the minimum yield scenario, each jar would cost $33 and the price decreases if yield is better than the minimum

transparency

From installation to filling, every step is done at your premises providing full transparency. You can participate in every visit or monitor progress through your online feed.

engagement

Every location is unique. Produce your own unique terroir honey. You can also design your own labels and postcards and share a unique package with your friends and family.

impact

Bees are the cornerstone of biodiversity, hosting a beehive contributes to increasing pollination and protecting the local flora. Homegrown produce reduces food miles and CO2 emissions.
